Autism, also known as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects a person’s ability to communicate, interact socially, and exhibit repetitive behaviours or restricted interests. It typically appears in childhood and can affect their life.
While symptoms may emerge as early as 12 months, most cases are diagnosed by age 2 or 3. Autism affects people of all ages, races, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
The prevalence of Autism is not well documented in India and the estimates may vary widely. According to a study conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the prevalence of autism in children aged 2 to 9 years in India is around 1.4 per 1,000. Other studies, however, have found much higher rates, with some estimating that the actual prevalence of autism in India could be as high as one in every 250 children.
Several factors may contribute to the lack of accurate prevalence data in India, including limited awareness and access to diagnostic services & cultural stigma surrounding disabilities.
Awareness of autism spectrum disorder
Awareness of the signs and symptoms of Autism will help parents caregivers and health professionals recognize the condition at its early stages. This can lead to a better outcome. Additionally, it helps you reduce stigma and misconceptions surrounding the condition.
Moreover, Autism awareness can help to increase public interest and support for research into the condition’s causes, treatment, and prevention. This may result in increased research funding and the development of new therapies and interventions.
The main objective of Positive Autism Center is to make people more aware of the condition. Dr A M Reddy (Founder) feels that it is his responsibility to create awareness and treat children suffering from Autism.
Treatment for Autism Typically involves a combination of Behavioral therapies and Medication to subside co-existing factors such as anxiety. However, these medications can lead to other complications further in life. In contrast, Homeopathy is safe to use with no side effects as it’s made with natural elements.
Here at Positive Autism, before prescribing medicine to a child, we look at various factors such as pregnancy complications, habits of parents, type of pregnancy, symptoms that a child is exhibiting, and other factors and then arrive at a similimum which means, they arrive at a conclusion and prescribe medicine that will treat the immune response of an Autistic child.
