    Poor Memory

Poor memory and other disorders related to memory and information recollection are common with Autism. The scope of memory disorder can range from mild to severe. The disorder could emerge out of nowhere or progressively, over a period of months or even years.

Our brain has memory stored in 2 types of memories. The implicit memory is what one might call muscle memory or reflexive memory, where involuntary actions are stored. Explicit memory is where facts and life experiences are stored. Autism patients have a problem in creating explicit memories.

Autistic children might have difficulty remembering complicated concepts like many pieces of simple information or one complicated info package. If there was a need for the cognitive organization during the memorization process, the autistic children will not be able to do it.

In the case of an ordinary person, your brain automatically tells you what to focus on to remember what is necessary. However, autistic people simply can’t determine what is important. This could lead to the autistic patient having difficulty socially, linguistically and sometimes have trouble with reasoning as well.

“If the brain does not, from the start, automatically identify and store key information, that seriously impairs the capacity to interact, communicate and solve problems. Children with autism can be easily overwhelmed by the complex information in most everyday experiences.”

There are a few exercises that the parents can do at home to help with improving memory as well. Creating habits, playing memory puzzles in free time, comparing the information with an interesting story, using visual aids like images and colors, etc will help.

Homeopathy can enhance the memory of autistic children and help them retain information better in a safe and natural manner. This gives them the confidence to learn new things on their own, without a lot of external aid.
